Genre de fougères proche des cheilanthes composé de 40 espèces environs. Pellaea du grec pellos qui signifie «sombre» sans doute du fait de leur pétiole et rachi brun-noir légèrement luisant. Particularité ; sores situés en marge sous le bord replié du limbe. Elles aiment souvent les situations ensoleillées, chaude, les éboulis rocheux.

  • Pellaea falcata

    Family : Pteridaceae.

    Common name : sickle fern.

     The upright fronds are olong, once-pinnate, dark green and glossy. The pinnae are tight, sturdy and narrow-oblong in shape. This fern is grown in gardens with winter protection or indoors, in light shade and drained soil. Evergreen. Height : 30/50cm. Hardiness : -8°C.
