This large upright fern is one of the most magnificent garden ferns. The fronds are dark green, yellow green when they are young, on a stout erect rhizome. Rachises and stipes are cloaked with black or dark brown scales, producing beautiful contrasts in spring. Place it in a cool and humusy soil, chalky or alkaline, above all well-drained. Evergreen. Height : 90/150cm. Hardiness : -22°C.
