Small development species forming  a dense and symmetrical crown, neat, fine, dark green, long-lived, weatherproof. The young croziers and the stipes are covered with black scales. Easy to grow in a shady rockery, in an acidic or neutral, cool and drained soil. It is also used as an indoor plant or in floral arrangements. Evergreen. Height : 30/40cm. Hardiness : -20°C.
