Origin : Thailand, China (Yunnan), Himalayas. On mossy tree-trunks or on rocks at ridge in evergreen forests at high altitudes (1400–2000 m).

Family : Polypodiaceae.

Epiphytic and epilithic fern. The rhizome is slender, scaly, branching and long-creeping. The evergreen fronds are lanceolate, entire, upright, thick textured and coriaceous. The underside is densely coated with white scales, then cinnamon or tan at maturity. The top is covered with thin hair. Rachis and veins are brown. The fertile fronds are a little taller than the sterile ones. Slow growing fern for cool rockeries, in bright shade, or in container in a good-draining mix, inside. Height : 25cm. Hardiness : -15°C.
