The rhizome is short-creeping. The stipes are black, shiny and thin. The lamina is bipinnate, each pinnule is rounded with a crenate margin. The elongated sori are covered with a false indusia, the reflexed edge of pinnules. This delicate fern will do well in cool, wet, chalky soils, rockeries, living walls, in shade. Be careful with slugs. Evergreen. Height : 20/30cm. Hardiness : -15°C.
